These awards celebrate engineers who have achieved a lifetime of outstanding success in the profession and recognise their invaluable contributions to the engineering community.
In addition to national recognition, outstanding nominees are recognised at the local level, helping us highlight more engineers and perspectives from across the profession.
We encourage nominees of all backgrounds and identities including people of all genders, people with disabilities, mature age and younger applicants, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other underrepresented groups.
Nominations are open until Wednesday 1 July.
You’ll find everything you need to complete a nomination in the people awards handbook.

Australian Honours
To increase recognition of the outstanding work of our members and awareness of the value of engineering, each year we nominate eminent Engineers Australia members for Australian Honours.
Since its inception in 2024, the Australian Honours Subcommittee has played a pivotal role in elevating the profile of outstanding engineers across the nation. In just two years, the subcommittee has supported 49 nominations, contributing to a significant rise in recognition, with 31 Engineers Australia members receiving an Australian Honour in 2025 – an 82% increase from the previous year. Notably, 13 of these recipients were directly supported by the subcommittee, demonstrating the powerful impact of proactively championing engineering excellence and ensuring our members’ achievements are seen, valued and celebrated at the highest national level.
Overseeing the process is a Board-established Australian Honours Subcommittee whose purpose is to review, support and submit nominations.
