Steam Rules!

« on: March 19, 2011, 12:26:04 AM »

Here are engravings of Doble automotive steam engines.

I believe the Doble brothers were graduates of M.I.T., and their work was highly advanced, and rivals some work seen in modern combustion engines of today.

These were Uniflow steam engines (exhaust ports cast into the side of the cylinder wall).
The Uniflow design can generally be recognized by the long piston design.

The Doble steam autos are generally considered the Rolls Royces of the steam automobile world.
