Concessions
A concession rate is available to help ease costs during certain situations so you can stay connected to your membership without added stress. We understand circumstances change, and this option is designed to give you flexibility when you need it.
We offer three concessions covering a range of circumstances:
- Retired: if you're a retired member over the age of 55 who is no longer working full time. To be eligible you’d need to be earning no more than $50,000 per year and have held membership continuously for five years.
- Full time postgraduate study: if you’re studying full-time for a Masters or Doctorate in your area of engineering.
- Temporary financial assistance: if you’re going through a period where work or income has changed – whether you’re taking a career break, are unemployed, working reduced hours, taking parental leave, caring for a baby under 12 months, supporting an unwell or elderly family member, running a business during a slowdown or experiencing any temporary financial pressure – we’re here to support you. When submitting your concession, let us know your current circumstance in the free text field.
Your concession and the amount will be confirmed when you complete the online membership application process.
